MAGNANIMITY – Spiritual Theme of the Month

FORGIVENESS: Magnanimity is realized after forgiveness.

In order to move forward, I need to let go of the heavy past. What makes it “heavy” — the ‘Injustices’ and ‘Injuries.’ Long after the experience, I can carry them. That is what forgiveness is largely for: letting go.

There is forgiveness for people’s trespasses, forgiveness for my trespasses, and the most challenging of all, forgiveness for my trespasses on myself. In other words, “I knew better, but I did it anyway,” or “I had the insight, but I ignored it.”

When I cannot let go, it eventually builds greed. I create a blackhole because I do not feel free. It is time to regroup and let go: “From now on, I will do the very best I know how; I leave my complaints far behind me; I judge nothing, only evaluate.” I cling to nothing — I am free.
